Since its inception in the spring of 2016, the Victor L. Worsfold Grants have awarded a total of $18,133 to support 23 student-led projects on campus at UT Dallas as well as the community at large. In the fall of 2019, these projects included:
180 Degrees Consulting - This student organization provided pro-bono consulting services for local nonprofits and helped them with fundraising and marketing strategies, operational optimization, and volunteer engagement.
Comet Marketing - An organization aimed at providing marketing to groups on campus (photography, advertising, graphic design).
Philosophy Circle - This organization hosted philosophy dialogues with guests at The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center every Sunday.
In the spring of 2020, these projects included:
Music & Me - This student organization taught children from underprivileged communities to play the piano through an afterschool program.
Cooked-19 - Two Terry Scholars founded a nonprofit that served meals (purchased from local restaurants) to healthcare workers helping patients with COVID-19.
Foster Connect - This service organization created “One Night Bags” that held essential toiletries and comfort items targeted toward Dallas area youth aged 12-17 who entered Child Protective Services custody.
Global Medical & Dental Brigades - The UTD chapter of Global & Medical Brigades traveled to rural Panama to provide free medical and dental care to community members.
